Collegiate Chapter Scholarship

The mission of the Richmond Music Teachers Association is to advance the value of music study and music making in society and to support the professionalism of music teachers.  One of the ways this mission is accomplished is by members providing professional support to their communities, and in particular to music students. 

The RMTA Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship to a promising music student who is a member in good standing of the MTNA Collegiate Chapter at VCU.  The funding for the scholarship comes directly from our students who raise money through performance in the Playathon.  The amount of the scholarship will be based on the money received from the bi-annual Playathon event.  Money for the scholarship winner will be sent directly to VCU for tuition.

The application for the scholarship is due by April 1st.  Find the online application here.

The RMTA Scholarship Committee will select the recipient by May 1st.  The award recipient will be announced at RMTA’s opening meeting in September.
