Purpose:
- The purpose of the Sonia Vlahcevic Contemporary Festival is to encourage the study and performance of contemporary music, and to give students an opportunity to compose a contemporary piece of their own
Composer’s Piece:
- A contemporary composer’s work is required for the event. A student’s contemporary composition is optional. The students will perform the composer’s piece and optionally, their own piece at the event.
Optional Student Composition:
- Compositions no longer have a measure requirement.
Awards:
- Each student will receive a monetary award donated by Dr. Vlahcevic.
